About Bettina

After many years of working in healthcare, leading non-for-profits, conducting research, and raising a family, I found myself wanting a creative outlet in my life.  The moment I sat at the potters' wheel, I was hooked.  Immediately attracted to the difficulty of the craft, its subtlety and nuance, I realized that it would take a lifetime to master.  Years later, I still push myself to play well outside of my comfort zone. Finding inspiration in travel and nature, my work embraces tradition as well as organic shape, color, and texture.  I share my personal growth with my students, from whom I learn as much as I teach.  My personal work derives from our collective experiences, as well as my own history.  It is an expression of myself.
